Our Fall Favorites

So we are here, our stuff is here, and John is back to work after 10 days off. We were super productive during his time off to get the house in some order. There are still a lot of things that need their place, but we are getting there. We got the kitchen, dining and living room painted so we definitely feel at home here. It seems like John is already seen as an asset at work because he has a set of tactical skills that most of the guys he works with, don't. He is an Expert Infantryman with a badge to prove it ;) (he never wears the badge though). His work environment seems to be much more relaxed than it was in Germany and much less stressful than it was in training for the last five months.
We had a full Halloween. We did the ward Trunk-or-Treat the Saturday before Halloween and got Kennedi dressed up in her Colt's cheerleading outfit. Grandma Pat made her pom-pom's and made her mini panda a match outfit with pom-pom's and I made new bows for the outfit. She looked SUPER cute (as you will see below) but when Halloween came around, I decided we wouldn't do the actual Trick-or-Treating thing. I just feel like she is still a little young and my choice was confirmed when we had moms coming up to our door with their little babes telling them to say "trick-or-treat!", and they can barely say "thank you." There was just no need to walk her around the neighborhood to get candy that she would never eat (but I would probably end up eating it). SO! She just stayed in her cute Halloween shirt and passed out candy to all the kids and had an AMAZING time! She LOVED giving the kids candy and was very generous to the kiddos! Only a few of the costumes scared her so a lot of fun was had by all. I hope you all had a great Halloween and that everyone's holiday plans are coming together! Here are some pictures:
GOOO COLTS!!!!
Such a matter-of-fact expression...where did my baby go???

Can you see mini Panda?? Isn't that so cute! Thanks Grandma Pat!
She was really stressed about the pom-pom's. They just made her nervous and she held on for the first picture but two was just too much.
Sporting our support for the Colt's
Momma and the Kenna! She is so darn cute! P.S. can you believe how long my hair is?? Me neither!
She did walk around and hand people her little pumpkin but when it started raining she got a bit cranky and took refuge in the truck with daddy.
Yes, yes, we had matching bows, and yes I made them. Silly I know but I made two so that we can use them next year and put them in piggies.
Doing some measuring
Her new ball...
She would always stand there after a group of kiddos left the door and say, "ya want some more?!" It was so funny!

Oh, and to explain the long sleeved shirt and shorts, I think it is a cute look and it was 80 degrees outside. Her Halloween shirt was long sleeved, though, so I had to make sure she didn't sweat to death...so shorts.
Sure Love Ya!

Quick Update

I saw Marianne's comment and I did realize I needed to at least a little update for all of you who don't have or check Facebook frequently. We have arrived in North Carolina after seven full days of traveling from Arizona. We stopped in El Paso, TX; Dallas, TX (Jess Jensen and Tony); Jackson, MS; Phenix City, AL (Sara, Alex and Jensen); Charleston, SC (my car); and finally arrived to Fort Bragg. We were in the post hotel for four days before we took possession of our on-post digs. We have never lived on-post so this will be a new experience. We survived for five days on mats and supplies from the Lending Closet and then the shipment came! It has been so nice to finally feel at home sitting on my couch, sleeping in my bed...Hasn't happened since April! The night before the shipment came Kennedi woke up at 3AM with a coughing fit but I had nothing to do with her. I went in picked her up and had to sit on the ground to rock her because I had no furniture. I know that for many people, that is reality, it was nice to have that moment to remember to be grateful for all that I have but also know how much I can live without.

My first order of business is always getting my kitchen together but right after that I was headed to put Kennedi's crib together. I couldn't wait to let her sleep in her nice comfy bed especially because she is sick so it is easier to prop her up in it.

She is starting to feel a bit better. I am now pretty sick but isn't that how it works?! John just started his Permissive TDY so he has the next ten days off of work to help get us all set up around here. If you want to see what we are living in you can check out the slideshow and virtual tour here

Sara posted a lot of the pictures of our visit to them so you can check our her post to see them for now until I get them posted on here.

Here are some pictures of the last few weeks. I really should have more but I have been slacking...sorry!

John and Kennedi at graduation

She is so silly This is when Bolt was put on to create a bit of chill time
After we tearfully left the Garner's we stopped in Peach County Georgia at the
cutest little Peach orchard. Had some cobbler, ice cream and kisses....Little miss K and her ice cream Giving each other squishy facesIn the driveway while we got the storage room in some sort of order. It will be a blink of an eye before I am taking this picture for real....
why do they have to grow up so fast?

Unpacking is so exhausting for a sick little thing.
Poor girl is sacked out All the things you find when unpacking. Ear muffs for the airplane or shooting range, mommy's stool that she built in Jr. High = Happiness for a toddler

For the sick girls John got popsicles. Kennedi decided to treat it like corn-on-the-cob.
It was pretty cute.

There ya go Marianne, your wish is my command! Thanks for all the love and support you all give us! Sure love ya!

Phoenix!

I wrote and put this together forever ago, but I was waiting to get other pictures from our phones and the videos together but I just haven't had the time or determination, so here is the partial Phoenix trip

We went to Phoenix for our four day weekend and it was since a nice, fun and relaxing weekend. MUCH needed for this household! Ah where do I start....

The Comedor Guadalajara was one of the best experiences EVER! It was actual Guadalajaran food (John lived in Guadalajara, Mexico for two years for a church mission) and it literally took John to his happy place. Kennedi and I loved it too! You have seen the video of her eating the salsa ;)
Ah, the memories!
We were able to go to a Toys R Us and let Kennedi check out the toys,
guess what she found.....
Then she got a date to drive her around ;)
(do you see her still taking the wheel...yep she is her momma's)
The zoo was underwhelming, which was sad because we had heard good things.
K still had fun though....
Imagination Ave. is 20,000 sq. feet of play space and it was SO FUN!

The grocery room.
The kitchen room
cooking away!

Now she is a fire fighter!

So stinkin' cute!

Then she went up to the "Little Bit Jail"

Do you hear that????? Can you hear them????? THE ANGELS SINGING!!!! It was time for MY Happy Place!

CAFE RIO!!!
I honestly felt like I was in college again! Thank you Gilbert, AZ for having a Cafe Rio and make my weekend happy ;)

Once home again, unpacking was fun for Kenna...she took to reading in the tub.

TOUCHDOWN!

Here is one of my proudest moments as a mother.... my daughter yelling "Touchdown!!!" just before bedtime

Ugh, brings tears to my eyes!

Phoenix videos

Here are a few of the videos from our Phoenix trip. While I am still working on getting some of the pictures/videos out of my Blackberry (they are being held hostage!) I wanted to post these two cute videos....

Kennedi enjoying some fresh Guadalajaran salsa...she is her father's daughter!

This is Kennedi at Imagination Ave.

The Videos!!

Here are a bunch of videos that I have neglected to upload, so here ya go!

One of Kennedi's favorite words has been "what!" it is super cute and always makes us laugh.

This has a little bit of everything...tickle fingers, "what?!" and kicking the ball

This was about the 10th time they went back and forth and Kennedi was starting to slow down...it was so hilarious though!

This is Chelle reading Kennedi her lady bug book when she was visiting.

One of John and Kennedi's favorite games to play. Screaming at eachother ;)

Piggies!

I really think that any mother with a little girl would agree that the first time you are able to put their hair in full pig tails is a huge milestone; a right of passage if you will. Well today, Wednesday September 9, 2009 was that day for us! Kennedi's first pigtails! We have been playing with her hair lately so I have a few pictures from last week when we first started playing and then....the piggie pics!

The half piggies

The whale spout
The pony/whale spout combo

THE PIGGIES!

Not tons of hair but still so cute!
